Magical Prague and Vienna
It was an Easter holiday, so how could we miss a chance to visit some of the most beautiful cities in Europe (though all cities of Europe - small or big are beautiful)?
So, we made an itinerary of 5 days for Prague and Vienna.
First, I will give you a sneak peek of Prague and Vienna.
Prague is the capital of the Czech Republic. It is the most beautiful, picturesque, well-preserved medieval city with a rich history and a hint of romance. It also has fascinating colorful buildings designed in Gothic and Renaissance architecture.

Besides the beautiful scenery with unique architecture, this place is also a treasure, holding great culture, dance, and music. I'd say Prague is a city where you would be happy to get lost.
Now coming to Vienna, the capital of Austria, is a beautiful, prosperous, and well-planned city that shows the royalty and prosperity of the Austrian empire and makes Europe more attractive to world travelers. Apart from its impressive palaces, churches, and museums, it has plenty of restaurants, bars, and cafes to keep travelers engaged and entertained.
I am sure you also had Prague and Vienna on your bucket list.
Then, without wasting further time, let me share how we spent five days in these two beautiful cities, what activities we did, and what we liked the most.
Let me first invite you to live two days in Prague.
Day 1
I was overwhelmed and thrilled by the magnificent beauty of the city. It is one of the most beautiful and picturesque cities I have ever seen.
We decided to make our first stop in its old town, the leading marketplace for the city. I admired how the gorgeous pastel-colored architecture surrounded the square. We first visited a medieval astronomical clock, the third-oldest clock tower. Despite the huge crowd, we somehow managed to take a few photos in front of it.

The bakers, potters, and manufacturers of wood products occupy various shops and stalls of the square. Vendors sell everything from hot wine and traditional food to handcrafted gifts made with wood, amber, and ornaments. While strolling around, we also found the popular gallery, Gallery Of Steel Figures.
Bumblebee - The Autobot |
It is an interactive exhibition of many giant steel figures inspired by movies, cartoons, fairytales, pop culture, and animals. The surprising element is that all these sculptures of robots and movie characters are designed by processing and transforming scrap elements. It was a fascinating experience to see such marvelous pieces manually made from recycled steel.
That is how we spend our 1st day in Praha.
Day 2
We started our day with a sumptuous breakfast in our hotel. Then, we decided to visit Prague Castle - the largest ancient castle in the world. Yes, you heard me right, built in the 9th century, this castle was home to many Roman Emperors, which sits on top of the hill above the city and includes various historic buildings, palaces, gardens, and churches of different architectural styles.
I love the St. Vitus Cathedral the most. It is a magnificent gothic masterpiece that looks like a crown jewel of the complex. I would not hesitate to say it is the most beautiful church I have ever seen. I admire the Cathedral highlights - the exquisite stained glass window, which tells the entire history of Christianity with vibrant colors, designs, and symbolism.

Construction of the cathedral itself took six hundred years. Each time I find myself standing next to it, I get overwhelmed by thinking, What are humans capable of? This Beautiful building is worth climbing up some stairs.
While going back to our hotel, we made a stop to admire the eye-catching building called the Dancing House, the stunning building made of glass standing tilted at the center of the city, which is worth taking a few photos around.

After a small break, we got ready for the evening walk to visit the most famous Charles Bridge, a stunning bridge and historical monument in Prague covered by thousands of tourists daily, located in the middle of the city known for its gothic and baroque architecture. We enjoyed our time strolling over this charming bridge.

Day 3
After our last breakfast in the mesmerizing city, we headed out early that morning. It was time for a bus journey to our next destination - Vienna, which I could not wait to reach and continue our last leg of the vacation.
Vienna is commonly known as the capital of Austria and the birthplace of classical music. Every inch of the city is culturally rich and offers something spectacular, with countless museums, palaces, markets, restaurants, and delicious food halls. Vienna is the most livable city I have been to. It also has a fantastic infrastructure for public transport. I became a fan of the Austrian capital with its impressive buildings and laid-back atmosphere.
Earlier, I was a little worried about the trip, we might visit the city with too much expectation, but I was wrong - Vienna is magical.
Now we reached our hotel and got to freshen up. I was excited to get out of the hotel and explore this beauty. I always prefer to start our journey from the old town. If I frankly say, now every old town looks similar to me. But, Vienna city center did not disappoint me. You would not believe I walked around it with my mouth wide open.
I noticed the architecture because it was incredible, lined up with hundreds of cafés, restaurants, and cosmic buildings for shopping. The St. Stephens cathedral is the main attraction of the old square that is hard to miss.

That is how we ended our day by strolling around the city and testing some delicacies they have to offer.
Day 4
We choose to visit the iconic Schonbrunn Palace. It is one of the most important architectural, cultural, and historical palaces, converted into a living museum. It used to be the former summer residence of Habsburg, with around 1400 rooms. However, a handful of 44 rooms are accessible to the public as the museum. It is very well-maintained and interactive, with a free audio guide.

The interior of the rooms is incredibly ornate with paintings, woodwork, a chandelier, and elaborate decoration.
We took the grand tour pass that included the palace garden and maze, where the mazes in the park add a fun element to visiting the Schonbrunn Palace.
Afterward, we had a sumptuous lunch at an Indian restaurant, the Prosi.
Day 5
To take the dose of some artwork from ancient Egypt to the modern era, we visited one of the most esteemed art museums - The Kunsthistorishes.
The Kunsthistorisches Museum |
It is a grand building that can enchant anyone, especially its stunning dome. Its structure looks like a palace. And it is even more beautiful, extraordinarily detailed from the inside.
They have a collection of Greek and Roman Antiquities, all in a magnificent setting, and it is considered one of the best museums in art history. I have never seen such an enormous and beautiful museum. It is now my absolute favorite part of Vienna.
A few beautiful artifacts from the museum |
After spending a few hours in this museum, we headed towards the Hofburg Palace, a beautiful palace covered by eye-catching restaurants, cafes, and shops. Strolling around the building is like walking into a fairytale with horse carriages, museums, and baroque architecture.

After having pleasant lunch at a vegan restaurant, we headed toward the Prater amusement park. It is a big park with various attractions such as carousels, a ghost train, a Madame Tussaud wax museum, and a roller-coaster ride. One activity that attracted me to come here is riding on the famous - Viennese Giant Ferris Wheel to get a landscape view of Vienna as it slowly rides up and up.
